What would you consider the greater evil? A man works as a hospital porter for 20 years and is laid off due to no fault of his own. He loses his medical benefits. Chronic asthma has plagued him throughout his life and he no longer has prescription coverage. His daughter has braces but she no longer has dental coverage and he can’t afford the monthly visits. His son is attending a Public University, but even his City college tuition is now unaffordable. Do catholics care about universal healthcare? Bishop D’Marzio of the Diocese of Brooklyn condemned even the watered down final bill. The Bishop claimed it “fell-short,” yet participated in the wholesale pedaling of the abortion lie. What about equal access to education? Does the church view higher education as privilege or a right? Unfortunately, they haven’t even whispered about college costs. What about social justice? Perhaps the greater our suffering in this life the greater our reward in the afterlife. Abortion is far worse than the continuous concentration of wealth in the hands of the few, right? If a person loses their job, they don’t deserve health benefits. Health benefits are a privilege to benefit the employed. An Iranian woman is accused adultery; it is alleged that she had sexual relations after her husband’s death. She was sentenced to death. She was to be buried with only her head above ground, and a bag covering on her head. She is to be pummeled with rocks. According to a Shiite interpretation of Sharia law, the widow is an adulteress even if her husband is dead. American Democracy protects its citizens from barbaric and antiquated punishments. Religion is not the Barometer for moral absolutism unless it’s your religion and Fable. The Christian Right appears certain about their Calvinist God, so they can embrace his laws. We promise to keep it down when we have our pro-abortion parties. Please reconsider funding abortions covered under all Federal health plans;otherwise, realize that your God has been living tax-free for centuries and I don’t want my tax dollars supporting your religion. It offends my God.
